History & Description
Crawley Beauty is a very useful cooking apple that was first grown at Tilgate near Crawley and then cultivated by the nursery J.Cheal & Sons.
It cooks to a lightly flavoured puree and can be eaten fresh after storing.
Because the variety flowers very late in early June, it can be grown in colder areas.
The medium sized fruit is green flushed red with broken red stripes. The variety is self-fertile.
